Our Mini-Courses offer one-on-one private training at one of our indoor training facilities (St Paul & NE Minneapolis) or our outdoor training facility (West St Paul Sport Park - seasonally). The Mini-Course curriculum is adapted from our popular group class training, but without the "group" part! Each Mini-Course consists of 4 one-hour sessions, scheduled at your convenience and adapted to your schedule within our course offerings. We recommend meeting once per week for these Mini-Courses.
We have these Mini-Course topics available at this time:
Puppy Training & Socialization
Basic Obedience & Manners
Leash Walking
Outdoor Recall
Leash Aggression
Dog to Human Socialization for Reactive Dogs
Separation Anxiety
Cooperative Care
Puppy Agility or Agility for Fun
Scent Work
More details are laid out below on the specifics of each of those mini-course programs.
Our mini-course curriculum is a set curriculum and we will not be able to cover any off-topic issues. If you are looking for customized training, please click here for in-home training (we can also meet at a facility for these sessions) to better fit your needs.
When you click the registration link (further down this page) you'll be brought to a calendar where you can select your four sessions.
Please note: you must select four sessions during the registration process or your mini-course will not be complete.
Alternatively, if you aren't 100% certain of your upcoming schedule, you may also purchase a "package" of four sessions using the link on the registration page. The package sessions do not need to be scheduled all at once and will be held in our system until used. There is no price difference between buying your 4 sessions as a package, or scheduling them right away as single sessions.

This Mini Course is great for dogs of all activity levels, who learn best in a one-on-one setting! Scent Work, also called Nose Work, is a sport where we teach your dog to locate a toy, treat or odor. Your dog will learn to sniff out and indicate a specific scent that has been hidden. This game is great for rainy days and sunny days alike! Being highly motivated by food will help in this training game! You can choose what your dog will be finding. Either pick an odor in the form of an essential oil (found at Whole Foods or other natural foods stores) or a unique toy. For the odor, choose one that is not otherwise in your home, for example, lavender is rather common, so pick something like anise, frankincense, or clove.

Prerequisite: Level 1 Obedience (class, boot camp, or mini course) or equivalent from another school.
