Courtney showed me a few commands I wasn't aware of (the invisible wall) but the best part of the session was when she showed me the collar she uses to train, told me what was wrong with the collar I was using, (too big) and then took Pepper for a walk with her collar. Within minutes Courtney had Pepper walking politely on the leash. Then she had me try walking Pepper and he walked politely. (Prior to Courtney's training Pepper walked like a wild animal when I walked him on the leash.) "My Corgi, Pumba, loves Fit Dogs! I think he might like the staff at St. Paul more than he likes us (ha)! The staff is fantastic with him and he always wiggles his butt when he walks in and is excited to see them. Pumba is leash reactive, which makes it harder for him to engage in some normal dog activities. Fit Dogs is a huge for us by allowing Pumba a chance to do normal dog activities, just like any other dog! She never took offense to any questions I had regarding methods (i.e. slipleads) and was always willing to help troubleshoot Tofu's quirks or challenges we were having. She sent me a photo of Tofu on the first day of bootcamp--which I adored! It's clear she has a passion for dogs and is interested in continuing her knowledge on how to work with each breed. He greeted other people well, and left other dogs alone when told “leave it.” What a very good boy!!! Our only mishap was a large French fry someone dropped in his pathway, while we were walking, and that went down his gullet before I could even say “leave it.” Lol."

FitDogs is more expensive than other "just let the dogs run around like crazy all day" daycares, but we find it to be incredibly worth the extra cost. Howie can be a reactive dog at times and so those traditional daycares just do not work for him at all. We just adore you all and so does Howie."

"Our sweet Capo took puppy classes at your St. Louis Park location (Jake was an awesome teacher) and because we were so impressed we enrolled our daughter, Ella, and Capo in the kids camp over the summer. Prior to the camp Ella was a bit timid around Capo and he wasn't great at listening to commands from her. She was so nervous for the first day of camp but I hoped it would be a good bonding experience for her and the puppy. By the end of the camp their relationship was transformed. It went from them not quite knowing how to interact with each other to a true friendship. Ella's confidence with Capo skyrocketed. She would tell him to sit...and he'd listen...down...and he'd listen. She finally felt like she had control over him which made their playtime much more enjoyable. She didn't cue me at the door... and after our first class I used the "simple say and YES" method, and improved the treats and my enthusiasm (read = hot dog pieces and sounding a lot like Meg Ryan in "when Harry met sally" w/ the yes) and within two days she got it! Since class she has only had one accident. For me this was worth the cost of the class! She just needed stronger motivation/reinforcement! Thank you."
